Māramatanga, Mōrehutanga and Whakamoemiti are principles at the heart of our kura and pervade across all aspects of within our kura 

The Ratana Pā environment provides an authentic learning resource for uri and whānau, one that is rich in traditional, cultural and spiritual contexts. Ngā uri will gain knowledge of the teachings of TW Ratana and are actively immersed in events within the Ratana Pā community including important Ratana church anniversaries and local Iwi and Hapū events. 

Uri are immersed in an environment that nurtures their holistic development and Morehutanga. The concepts of Inoia, Rapuhia and Pātukia influence kaimahi and the Board to ‘mahi tahi’ to support the learning model. They promote the concepts of inquiry, effort and diligence in the pursuit of knowledge and understanding. Encouraging perseverance, determination and self-belief.

Our vision is underpinned by an authentic education model that incorporates:

  1. The teachings of the Māramatanga - Te Ture Wairua / Te Ture Tangta.
  2. Marautanga Morehu
  3. Te Reo Māori, Te Reo Morehu.

The kura values derive from our Māramatanga and are central to the culture and environment of our kura and the success of our uri

Motto | Whakapepeha

  • Inoia (to encourage an open and inquiring mind),
  • Rapuhia (to seek knowledge and information),
  • Pātukia (to persevere and overcome obstacles). 

Inoia, Rapuhia, Pātukia has its origins in te Paipera Tapu, in the Gospels according to (Matiu 5 - 7), which, with (Maaka 3:13 — 35) and (Ruka 6:12 49).
